My Journey to Building Gharib Improvement

I was born and raised in Windsor. My father worked hard as a taxi driver, and my mother was a dedicated hairstylist. Growing up, I always saw how much effort my parents put in to provide for the family, and that taught me the value of hard work early on.

After high school, I enrolled in the Woodworking Technician program at St. Clair College and earned my diploma after two years. I started out as a laborer in the renovation field, taking whatever work I could find. At one point, I was earning just $13 an hour, doing physically demanding jobs with little recognition or opportunity to grow.

Things started to change when a close friend saw my potential and offered me a chance to work in concrete. He said, “Come work with me, and I’ll pay you $20 an hour.” That was a big step up for me — not just financially, but also in what I learned. From that moment on, I began learning the concrete trade hands-on, building skills, experience, and confidence every day.

After some time, I realized I didn’t want to stay stuck as just a laborer. I always had the dream of being my own boss — making my own decisions, doing things the right way, and building something I could be proud of. That’s when I decided to launch Gharib Improvement.

Today, my company offers quality concrete and renovation services in the Windsor-Essex area, built on the same values I learned growing up: hard work, honesty, and taking pride in every job.
